Weekend Get-Aways on the Rise
Here in California we have many diverse regions; most between 30 minutes to a few hours or perhaps half a day away from home. To name a few, there is the concrete jungle of Los Angeles, the flowery plains of Lompoc, and the sunny beaches of the Central Coast.
In a time where many have no time to take a week or two for vacationing, short weekend trips have risen. According Statista.com, in 2014, 67% of U.S. travelers planned weekend get-aways for their summer vacation, up from 59% in 2013. (Statista.com, 2014).
It seems that many associate trips longer than a weekend with stress. The planning, the packing, the money spent, the long car ride, the flight, and the hassle on the other end. That’s why so many are taking shorter trips, which is an advantage to hotel and motel owners in Central and Southern California, where a fun destination is just a short car-ride away.
Take a moment and look at how you are trying to capture that weekend get-a-way market for your property – encourage people to explore their own backyard in beautiful sunny California and come to your place!
