Vaccinations Aid In Successful Reopening of California’s Economy
Great news! California is currently at a 64% vaccination rate and climbing. According to a recent post on the California Government’s website, the state has safely reopened its economy thanks to the millions of vaccinations administered. There are currently no county tiers, capacity limits, or physical distancing requirements for businesses or public activities and there are no travel advisories currently in effect. Restaurants, movie theaters, shopping malls, hotels, and most public places are open.
However, as COVID-19 remains a very real concern with the recent rise in positive cases, continued implementation of safety protocols are strongly encouraged by the CDC whether or not you’ve been vaccinated.
Nearly a month after Governor Newsom optimistically lifted most restrictions, Los Angeles has reinstated its indoor mask wearing policy regardless of vaccination status. Indoor events hosting 5,000 or more people, a “mega event”, now require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result taken 72 hours prior to the event in order to enter. For outdoor events of 10,000 or more people (i.e festivals, concerts, etc.) the state recommends that organizers ask attendees to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result.
Although, we are not out of the woods yet, it seems that with continued vaccinations and consistent implementation of safety protocols, California will be geared to make slow and steady progress towards a thriving economy.
